Traditions in the Sarntal Valley – A Living Heritage

In the Sarntal Valley, traditions are not simply preserved – they are cherished and lived from the heart. One of the highlights of the year is the Sarner Kirchtag, a traditional village festival featuring traditional costumes, music, and a festive procession. During Advent, mysterious figures make their way through the villages as part of the traditional “Klöckeln” custom. In summer, the Sacred Heart fires light up the mountains, bathing the valley in a magical glow. Traditional Sarner costumes, time-honored craftsmanship, and delicious local farm specialties are also an important part of this living cultural heritage. From the Obertimpflhof, you can hike directly to the little St. Valentine’s Church and, for more experienced hikers, continue on to the Gentereralm, Leiterspitz, and Radlspitz. The Sarntal Valley Circular Trail also starts right at the farm. Families can enjoy the Urlesteig adventure trail and the Legends Trail, while Reinswald invites you to hike, relax, and take in the scenery. Cycling and e-bike tours, tennis, beach volleyball, fishing, and the outdoor swimming pool in Sarnthein provide plenty of variety.
